About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN Certifications: - BLS - PALS Must-Have: - High Flow Nasal Cannula experience - Trach/home ventilator experience Description: Number of Beds: 24 Number of Staff: 40 Day Shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4-8 RNs (dependent on census), and 1 Patient Care Technician/Unit Coordinator. Night Shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4-8 RNs (dependent on census), and 1-2 Patient Care Technicians/Unit Coordinators (dependent on census). Patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity. Type of equipment includes trachs, home ventilators, feeding pumps, central lines, chest tubes, syringe pumps, and high flow nasal cannulas. EMR used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed on the unit include central line care and high flow nasal cannula management. The best personality fit is someone who is flexible, has a positive attitude, is team-oriented, and possesses good communication skills. Floating areas may include pediatric surgical, emergency department holds, neonatal intensive care, and pediatric hematology/oncology. Every other weekend is required. This position is to fill a vacant role.
