This is a great opportunity to work in the Commercial Airplanes South Carolina Design Center, as a Structural Analysis Engineer.Primary Responsibilities:Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the wing and/or empennage design.Develops, maintains and modifies structural designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify the structural design meets requirements and specifications.Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.Active leader in the growth of a new organization performing lead level duties, mentorship, and training of developing team members.Develops certification related documentation to support CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects.Collaborates and performs oversight on projects with international partners/suppliers.Applies Part 21 and Part 25 Code of Federal Regulations knowledge and facilitates interactions with Federal RegulatorsWorks under minimal direction.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of experience with aircraft structural design3+ years of experience with design of composite structuresPrior experience with aircraft, heavy structures, hardware systems or interiors manufacturing/production systemsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):7+ years of experience working on wing or empennage primary structure such as Wing tips, wing leading or trailing edges, wing center section, wing box, wing join, vertical, or horizontal stabilizers5+ years of experience performing the basic qualifications in a lead capacity working under minimal directionExperience designing and qualifying composite primary structures, including laminate design, ply-drop strategies, and structural strength considerationsHands on experience with fabrication of metallic and composite structuresCurrent or prior DER/AR/E-UMConflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay Range Summary:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
