Hospice Executive Director – Salt Lake City

This is a director-level leadership role. We're looking for candidates who have already run a hospice or related program — not candidates looking to move into hospice leadership for the first time. Please do not apply without prior hospice/home health leadership experience.

Ovation Hospice is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hospice Executive Director for our Salt Lake City location. As a Hospice Executive Director with Ovation, you will oversee the Salt Lake City area's daily operations, ensuring exceptional patient care delivery and compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise in hospice administration, coupled with your leadership skills, will contribute to the success and growth of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the hospice team, ensuring the highest standards of care are met
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the hospice program, including clinical operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance
• Own the market's P&L, including budget development, forecasting, and cost management
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and review patient care plans
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment
• Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
• Foster strong relationships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the organization's mission and enhance referral networks
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including leading the program through state and/or CMS surveys
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging research to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in hospice or home health, including 3+ years in a director-level or above leadership role (Executive Director, Administrator, Clinical Director, or equivalent)
• Proven experience directly supervising a team of 15+ employees, including hiring, performance management, and accountability for team KPIs
• Direct experience owning a P&L, department budget, or cost center of $1M+
• Experience leading a hospice program through a state or CMS survey
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, compliance requirements, and accreditation standards
• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and reporting
