About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Business Development to take on a senior leadership role with a focus on driving the business development strategy and executing valuable deals within the ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the development and initial execution of the business development strategy for a subset of the company's portfolio. This includes working closely with the CEO and senior management to align the strategy with long-term growth plans, identifying and engaging potential partners, and leading the full cycle of business development initiatives. The role demands a proven track record in business development and corporate strategy, with a strong emphasis on the ability to understand complex scientific concepts and effectively communicate their value to both internal and external stakeholders. Applicants for the VP, Business Development position at the company should have a minimum of 12 years' of industry experience, with a preference for those holding an advanced degree (PhD, MD) and an MBA. The role requires a leader with a strong background in strategy design and execution, particularly in the context of sell-side business development deals with pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The ideal candidate will have a history of meaningful impact in this area, including the successful structuring of significant business transactions. Senior or executive leadership experience is essential, as is the ability to work across organizational boundaries and disciplines. The VP will be expected to cultivate strong partnerships, lead a cross-functional team, and integrate a partnership perspective early in the research and development process.
