Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Courier to join our team. The Courier plays an important role in supporting patient care by ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate transportation of mail, medications, laboratory specimens, medical supplies, equipment, and other materials between HMC facilities, satellite clinics, and designated locations.

This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide professional service while interacting with physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, vendors, and other healthcare professionals.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate HMC vehicles while following all traffic laws and organizational safety policies.
• Transport mail, medications, laboratory specimens, medical records, supplies, equipment, and other materials between HMC locations and designated areas.
• Pick up and deliver mail to Hopedale Medical Complex buildings, satellite offices, and the Post Office.
• Prepare and deliver flight bags to satellite clinic locations.
• Deliver pharmacy medications while maintaining security, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Transport time-sensitive healthcare materials according to established procedures.
• Complete required courier logs, mileage documentation, and delivery records.
• Inspect vehicles, report maintenance concerns, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Assist Central Supply and other departments with deliveries, inventory movement, and special projects.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to employees, patients, vendors, and community partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Proof of automobile insurance required.
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles in various weather and road conditions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as scheduled.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly (67-100% of the time): Sitting while driving, talking, hearing, near and distance visual acuity, and use of hands and fingers to operate vehicles, mobile devices, and delivery documentation.
• Frequently (34-66% of the time): Standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, entering and exiting vehicles, and loading or unloading materials.
• Occasionally (11-33% of the time): Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Rarely (Less than 10% of the time): Climbing ladders or working at heights.
