RF Engineer II

As an Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer II, you will play a critical role in the design and development of RF systems for aerospace and defense projects. You will be responsible for detailed RF front-end design, microwave path analysis, and interference mitigation. You will work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality RF solutions.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Responsibilities:

• Perform co-site analysis

• Conduct detailed radio propagation modeling and prediction in support of link budget analysis

• Complete antenna performance simulations using Ansys HFSS

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

• Document technical designs, test plans, and results.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in RF engineering or a related role.

• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

• Proficiency in RF design and testing techniques.

• Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices, including various RF modeling, analysis techniques, and tools.

• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.

Qualification We Prefer:

• Experience with advanced RF simulation tools.

• Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards.

• Knowledge of industry standard RF principles as they apply to design, analysis, and test.

• Understanding of techniques to perform RF analysis such as Cosite, E3 integration, link budgets, and antenna patterns.

• Experience with analysis software applications such as ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS EMIT, ANSYS SAVANT/SBR+, and MATLAB/Python.

• Capable of developing substantiation documentation to demonstrate compliance to related requirements and industry standards to include test plans/reports, analysis documents, and compliance checklists.

• Experience with RF test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and Signal Generators.

• Knowledgeable of industry standard RF assemblies and component selection and developing technical specifications.

• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

• Analyze failure data, reports, and root cause analysis to identify and document issues accurately.

• Evaluate different approaches to failure analysis and selecting the most appropriate methods for effective resolution.

• Make informed decisions based on data and analysis to recommend corrective and preventive actions.

• Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, failure analysis reports, and computer screens accurately.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
