We are looking for a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to support funding activities and financial oversight for district initiatives in Orange, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position will play a key role in tracking grant-related finances, supporting proposal development, and helping ensure awarded funds are administered in accordance with applicable guidelines. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to align funding strategies with organizational priorities while maintaining strong reporting accuracy and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and evaluate grant funding opportunities from federal, state, local, and other sources that align with district programs and capital improvement goals.
• Prepare, revise, and submit competitive grant applications by gathering financial information, supporting narratives, and required documentation.
• Oversee grant fund administration by monitoring budgets, expenditures, and allowable costs throughout the award lifecycle.
• Maintain compliance with grant terms, governmental regulations, and reporting deadlines through accurate recordkeeping and timely submissions.
• Partner with departments across the organization to coordinate funding priorities, collect data, and support strategic planning efforts.
• Analyze financial and program data to measure grant performance, support decision-making, and strengthen future funding requests.
• Contribute to the review and refinement of planning documents, including materials connected to district-wide strategic initiatives.
• Provide guidance to internal teams on grant processes, budget controls, and post-award financial management practices.• Demonstrated experience in grant management and fund administration, preferably in a public sector, education, or government-funded environment.
• Strong knowledge of government grants, including compliance standards, financial controls, and reporting expectations.
• Hands-on experience managing grant-related budgets, reconciliations, and financial tracking activities.
• Familiarity with NAV - Net Asset Value and its relevance to financial review and reporting processes.
• Proficiency with Abila MIP or similar accounting software used for grant and fund accounting.
• Ability to interpret regulations, analyze data accurately, and present clear financial information to stakeholders.
• Strong written communication skills with experience supporting grant proposals, financial reports, or strategic planning documents.
