Employment SpecialistS:US is seeking an Employment Specialist for their adult families shelter in Manhattan.Location: E. 31st Street New York, NY 10016The Employment Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. The Employment Specialist will conduct assessment interviews to gather information related to clients' skills, education and interests. He/she will design and facilitate vocational/employment group and maintain an active employment vocational/educational data bank and serve as Program Representative at Workforce and Employment Initiatives and Meetings. The specialist will identify barriers to employment e.g.-ESL, Substance Abuse, Mental Health and in collaboration with Case Manager make appropriate.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policiesProvides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Visits clients in their home and other settings required.Familiar with OMH regulationsResponsible for integrating vocational goals and servicesProvides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provisionPerforming routine clinical services as a member of the TeamResponsible for charting client servicesResponsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service planResponsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team membersResponsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant's needs changeAdvocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possibleResponsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment statusFollow-up quarterly with all employed tenantsAssist with making monthly contact with tenant as neededParticipate in bi-weekly monthly meetingParticipate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concernsOther duties as assignedQualifications:Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Evening hours are required.Company Overview:S:US IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERJoin a team of employees who care about the wellbeing of others.
