Pay Rate: $18.50/hr

Shift: 1st shift

Description: Monday - Friday
7am-3:30pm

UTEM is seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our fabrication team. The Welder will be
responsible for performing MIG and/or TIG welding on structural steel components and custom metal
parts. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to
maintaining high safety and quality standards.


Job Duties (Inlude but not limited to)
• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on a variety of metal components
• Interpret and work from blueprints, welding symbols, and schematics
• Fit and assemble metal parts using measuring tools and fabrication techniques
• Grind, clean, and prepare materials before and after welding
• Conduct quality checks to ensure welds meet specifications and tolerances
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Maintain welding equipment and work area in good condition
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines


Production Skills and Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1-2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with MIG welding (TIG and Stick a plus)
• Familiarity with metal fabrication and welding standards
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Must own a welding hood and steel-toe boots
• Must pass a welding test and pre-employment screening
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Experience with structural steel or custom fabrication
