About the Role

The Company is seeking a Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police to provide executive leadership and strategic direction for its comprehensive public safety and law enforcement program. The successful candidate will serve as the Chief of Police, leading sworn law enforcement officers and public safety personnel in various responsibilities, including campus safety and security, crime prevention, emergency response, investigations, and parking and traffic enforcement. This role requires the development of collaborative relationships with the campus community and local, state, and federal partners to ensure a safe and student-centered environment. The Director will also be responsible for establishing departmental priorities, ensuring operations reflect a community-oriented policing philosophy, and complying with all relevant laws and professional standards. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, a minimum of 8 years of experience in law enforcement or public safety, and be MCOLES certified or certifiable. A Master's degree and experience in a college or university law enforcement environment are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency management, crisis response, and a proven track record of leading a professional law enforcement and public safety workforce. Essential skills include executive leadership, sound judgment, the ability to build trust and work collaboratively, and a commitment to integrity and ethical leadership. The role also demands extensive knowledge of law enforcement operations, contemporary policing practices, and the ability to manage sensitive and complex public safety matters.
