Psychiatric Nurse (RN) in Wisconsin. This position involves working on a behavioral health unit dedicated to adults with diagnoses such as alcohol use disorder, polysubstance use, depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The role supports both psych and detox services within an acute care setting, emphasizing patient safety, appropriate care, and collaboration with mental health specialists.

Job Details:

• Location: 1615 Maple Lane, Ashland, WI 54806, United States
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, rotating; schedule is flexible with no self or block scheduling.
• Schedule: No self or block schedules.
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; Minimum one year of relevant experience.
• Patient Populations/Common diagnoses: Alcohol use disorder, polysubstance use, alcohol detox, depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia. Adults only.
• Facility notes: The unit has a charge nurse 24/7, accepts patients, uses physical restraints rarely, and employs nurse aides or mental health specialists (one per shift from 7a to 7p). RT is available if needed.
• Additional Information: The department features a unit size of 10 beds with RN-to-patient ratios mostly at 1:3 to 1:5, and has a unit/department-specific orientation of 2-3 days with a preceptor. Staff dress code allows street clothes or scrubs, with appropriate, neat, and professional attire. Photo name tags are compulsory while on duty. The unit requires every other weekend and holiday coverage.
• Certifications: BLS Certification required. No trauma level designation. No license to submit required.
