Director of Business Transformation (Remote in Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA)

Location: Candidates must be based in the Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA metro areas The Opportunity We're looking for a hands‑on transformation leader to stand up and run an enterprise‑wide process improvement function, owning everything from opportunity identification through post‑launch performance tracking. This is a builder's role: you'll shape how the organization prioritizes, redesigns, and scales its highest‑impact operational initiatives, while embedding the right controls and automation from day one. What You'll Own Manage intake, prioritization, and roadmap planning for a portfolio of enterprise transformation initiatives Build and maintain a living map of process opportunities across customer‑facing, operational, and support functions Build the business case for each initiative: cost impact, speed, quality, capacity, customer experience, and control strength Set the playbook for how work gets scoped, documented, measured, and handed off to execution teams Current‑State Discovery & Future‑State Design Run structured discovery using value stream mapping, process mapping, root cause analysis, and waste identification Design future‑state processes that clearly define steps, roles, decision points, exceptions, service levels, and built‑in controls Translate designs into concrete requirements, operating model changes, and success metrics Align stakeholders on scope, decision rights, and what's needed to go live (policy updates, training, communications, change management) Controls & Governance Bake control requirements into every redesign from the start: preventive/detective controls, auditability, access management, segregation of duties, exception handling, monitoring Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and Operations to keep controls both compliant and workable in practice Delivery Enablement Act as a center of excellence supporting business owners and delivery teams with governance and hands‑on guidance, not just oversight Build implementation plans with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and ways to measure adoption Support go‑lives: readiness checks, training and job aids, cutover support, stabilization Track benefits realization and run regular performance reviews to make sure improvements stick Work with Technology and Data teams to turn process redesigns into workflow builds, system changes, automation, and better decision support Spot and prioritize automation opportunities: rules‑based automation, low‑code workflows, document/data routing, and analytics‑driven decisioning Define and operationalize the metrics that matter: process KPIs, control monitoring signals, benefits tracking Stakeholder Leadership Run cross‑functional workshops and governance meetings that end in real decisions and follow‑through Communicate risk, progress, and decisions to leadership clearly and with data behind it Build the relationships that make adoption easier and friction lower Team Building Lead and grow a team of process analysts, continuous improvement leads, and transformation resources Build reusable toolkits, templates, and standards that speed up delivery and keep it consistent Coach stakeholders on process thinking, measurement discipline, and how to adopt change well What You Bring Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus 8+ years of progressive experience in process improvement, business transformation, BPM, operational excellence, or reengineering A track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives from discovery all the way through implementation and sustained results Industry experience in insurance, financial services, franchising, regulated operations, or outsourced service delivery is strongly preferred Real expertise in end‑to‑end process design: value stream mapping, process mapping, root cause analysis, operating model definition Comfort translating process design into requirements that operations and technology teams can actually build against A strong automation mindset and experience partnering with technology teams to make it happen Solid analytical chops, including benefits modeling and performance measurement Proficiency with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio) Experience with workflow/automation platforms, including low‑code and RPA, and turning designs into build‑ready specs Familiarity with project/portfolio management tools for intake, prioritization, and status reporting (e.g., Smartsheet) Strong data and reporting skills, comfortable in tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau Comfort with documentation/knowledge management tools for standards and playbooks (e.g., SharePoint) Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills Nice to have: Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), PMP, CBPP, or a comparable certification.
