Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in specialty required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Trauma/general surgery post-operative patient experience required - Strong experience with abdominal surgeries - Experience with tracheostomy care - Proficient in managing foley catheters, surgical drains, wound vacs, ostomy care, ports and PICC lines, TPN, and lipids Description: The role involves working in an acute progressive unit with heavy trauma and GI post-operative patients. ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and telemetry experience are required. Experience with Level 1 or 2 trauma patients is necessary. Candidates must have experience with traumatic and general surgery post-operative patient care. This position requires proficiency in caring for patients who have undergone abdominal surgeries. Strong skills in tracheostomy care are essential. The candidate will be expected to effectively manage foley catheters, surgical drains, wound vacs, ostomy care, as well as ports and PICC lines. Experience with TPN and lipids is also a requirement. Local travelers within a 100-mile radius are not accepted for this position. Candidates should be prepared to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby. Modules may be required and will be completed during the orientation phase.
