Senior Accountant

Position Title: Senior Accountant Department: Controllers Office Term of Assignment: Continuing Term End Date, If Applicable: FLSA Status: Exempt = not eligible for overtime Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $55,360-$62,280 Travel: Less than 10% Brief Statement of Duties Plan, develop and refineoperating procedures and computerized systems for financialreporting. Monitor, review and document University financialtransactions for compliance with accounting principles, Universitypolicies, federal circulars and Internal Revenue Service rules andregulations. Prepare and/or assist with preparation of many of theUniversity's financial statements, income tax return, revenueprojections of University endowments and expenditure projectionsfor special projects. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Discipline/Degree Area: Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Required Minimum Work Experience: Three years' experience inaccounting, auditing or other fiscal management. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties Current knowledge of accounting practices and principles. Oral and written communication and comprehension skills. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work. Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment. Computer and software application skills. Current knowledge of tax laws. Additional Desirable Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Master's Degree in Business and/orCPA certificate. Higher education fund accounting seminars and workshops. Experience in financial accounting for federal, state, and localgrants. Certified Fiscal Research Administrator or comparablecertification.
