Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian Job, Merced, California, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a confident and experienced Small Animal Medical Director to lead a well-established companion animal hospital committed to progressive, high-quality veterinary care. This position offers the opportunity to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership oversight, ensuring consistent medical standards while fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.

Qualifications Needed:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited institution
Active California veterinary license in good standing
DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain
Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience
Strong surgical, diagnostic, and leadership capabilities

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

Establishing and maintaining high medical quality standards
Mentoring and coaching associate veterinarians
Managing complex cases while continuing active clinical duties
Collaborating with leadership to monitor hospital performance metrics
Ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a positive team culture
