Clinical Project Manager

Role Description

The purpose of this position is to coordinate assigned projects from initiation through completion, delivering both on-time and within budget. This role is highly interactive with the other departments within Emerus.

The PM is responsible for managing two categories of projects:

• Hospital Openings: The PM plays an integral part in the opening of our hospitals, coordinating and facilitating all facets in preparation for opening to the public.
• Enterprise: The PM assists in the successful completion of Enterprise-wide projects, including Finance, Marketing, Nursing, etc.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as a project manager in healthcare, strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
• PMP required
• Clinical licensure or relevant clinical credential required (e.g. RN, LVN, ARRT, RRT/CRT, CPhT, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams on complex project completion
• Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-driven, capable of making informed decisions with minimal guidance
• Proficient in MS Office, including MS Project
• Working knowledge of Smartsheet a plus
• Strong customer service focus required
• Fluent in English; written and oral communication required

Requirements

• Develop, track, communicate project schedules for assigned projects
• Be the point of contact and coordinate all departments that must come together throughout the projects
• Manage resources with peers and functional managers
• Identify and manage project risks and issues
• Ensure that all required contracts are in place
• Report on project budgets
• Provide frequent project status to management and project teams
• Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
• Develop and manage Activation and Operations Readiness plans for new hospital openings
• Lead end-to-end project management for new hospital openings from initial agreements through operational launch
• Develop and execute readiness plans including Activation/move-in and operational startup
• Partner with JV stakeholders and leadership to ensure scope, timeline alignment
• Lead enterprise-wide projects including clinical programs, operational improvements, and capital/equipment upgrades
• Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans with measurable outcomes
• Support initiatives to enhance system performance and scalability
• Serve as primary coordinator across all stakeholders
• Facilitate structured meetings and decision-making
• Capture lessons learned for continuous improvement
• Act as liaison between internal teams, JV partners, and executive leadership
• Build strong relationships and drive alignment
• Manage competing priorities in high-visibility environments

Other Job Functions

• Participate in review of blueprints for new hospital opening projects
• Work with regional CEO, CNO and functional and clinical departments to perform audits before hospital openings
• Coordinate development of punch list of items for Construction to be corrected in the new hospital prior to opening
• Work with Supply Chain to confirm supplies are delivered to new hospitals before opening
• Travel to all hospital locations as required
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Collect lessons learned and track completion in future projects
• Take initiative to keep abreast of developments in Project Management and pursue continuous education
• Fill in for the supervisor when requested
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Ability to work off-hours and on call when required
