Sourcing Specialist

Akkodis is seeking an Commodity Sourcing Specialist for a Contract job with a client in Kansas City MO. The client is looking for a Procurement / Supply Chain professional with experience in purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, MRP/ERP systems, and inventory planning within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should be able to manage supplier relationships, analyze costs, ensure on-time material delivery, and support production through effective procurement strategies.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $35/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

Manage purchase orders, MRP signals, and inventory planning.

Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure on-time deliveries.

Perform supplier sourcing, RFQs, cost analysis, and negotiations.

Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams to resolve shortages and maintain supply continuity.

Requirements / Qualifications

5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, purchase orders, and inventory control.

Experience with supplier management, negotiations, and cost analysis.

Ability to read technical drawings, BOMs, and quality specifications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in railroad, aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial manufacturing.

Familiarity with commodity sourcing strategies and supplier KPI management.
