Applications Engineer

About this role At OTC, being an Applications Engineer bridges the gap between engineering design and customer requirements by providing technical expertise, product selection, and application support. Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, if you're hardworking and eager to learn, we want you on our team. What You'll Do: Receive customer inquiries about new equipment or service of existing equipment Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications. Collaborate with sales and service teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored equipment or service solutions Generate quotes via CRM or ERP and manage electronic quote and order files Enter and process customer purchase orders, acting as a liaison between the manufacturer / supplier and the customer Review and interpret technical documentation, including CAD drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and application data. Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required. Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders. Stay up to date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies. Other duties as assigned. What You'll Need: Experience in industrial equipment sales and procurement Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or similar field. Experience with sizing and selection of rotating equipment (pumps and motors) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
