Structural Design Engineer

job summary:
Substation Structural Design Engineer for a company that provides Transmission and Distribution products and services for the electrical power industry. Our client is located near Hoover, AL. Responsible for the design of transmission line/substation structures and foundations.

This is a direct hire opportunity. Relocation assistance is available.

responsibilities:

Design of transmission line/substation structures and foundations
Required to interpret written client specifications and be able to assist in the preparation of Preliminary Designs and Proposals.
Responsible for carrying out project management from onset of the contract through the delivery of the product or completion of the project
Design of EHV, HV, and MV transmission structures using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, or Electrical Engineering degree
Must have at least two (2) years of civil/structure design experience
Experience in substation structure design with STAAD or similar software
E.I.T certification

Preferred:

Registered PE License
Background in electric power utilities from a consulting engineering firm
Proficient with PLS-CADD/ PLS-Pole
