Technical Business Analyst - Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM)

Location: Remote

Expectations:

Someone with knowledge/experience in the Energy Trading commodities (oil business is the most ideal). Strong technical business acumen - familiarity or previous experience in data-focused projects. Has either 5 years' in role experience or 10 full lifecycle deliveries using agile or waterfall approaches. Captures business requirements, assesses their value in relation to specific outcomes and engages other digital disciplines in the development of digital products. Must have knowledge in data & analytics type projects in order to help shape the requirements for this project.

- Experience working in the BI space, knowing what a BI team does, know what ETL is. This role isn't meant to be ETL, but providing mappings for the ETL Developers - Experience with creating mappings (understands what the source data structures are, what the field/source will be mapped to, create a spreadsheet of the mappings from field to field, transformation logic, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Work with product owners and subject-matter experts to shape the response to the business opportunity, designing the functional requirements process and orchestrating other digital resources
• Lead design thinking workshops, in person or virtually;
• Lead business process / workflow mapping, business process analysis and data model design as needed;
• Seek effective business solutions through improvements of workflows, ways of working and organization as well as the provision of digital products;
• Guide the product owner and others in the maintenance of a backlog and the shaping of epics and sprints
• Lead in articulating the business case and shaping investment options
• Ensure documentation of requirements, workflow design, data models etc in appropriate formats to engage stakeholders and communicate clearly
• Design and / or review testing approach, UAT scenarios, test scripts and training materials to match business requirements;
• Implement the authorized and approved standards, guidelines, and procedures;
• Establish third line support of production issue resolution as it pertains to business processes

Leadership qualities and interpersonal skills such as listening, empathy and influencing are key to this role, along with a collaborative approach, a sense of curiosity and a good grounding in business practices and digital capabilities.

Required Skills: Reference Data: Common Data Model - Someone with more technical BA acumen - For modeling, the team has a strong background in it - Need in depth analysis, understands trading systems (ETRM), understands data and see messages coming for one or the other and give details to the modeler - Need strong background with Endur for upcoming priority work - Strong trading experience Counterparty and generic trade attributes, location, contract information, portfolios, understand systems/data coming out of it and meet the business's requirements.
