If this sparks your interest, you're in the right place.As a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on elevating our work within the Justice + Civic sector, you will have the opportunity to work on highly complex projects while collaborating with the sector team to achieve our business plan goals. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to produce high-quality construction documents and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. You will collaborate closely with all disciplines to produce highly integrated building designs.You will collaborate with the sector leadership team to develop and execute strategies for business development, growing our integrated practice. You will play a key role in client relationship development and management. You will also guide the engineering team to ensure deliverables are of a consistent quality and within budget.As stewards of the built environment, DLR Group's Justice+Civic studio elevates behavioral, environmental, and social betterment, resulting in healing, equity, and transformation for the individual and community.The successful candidate will:Lead multiple projects and staff over multiple regions to assure local teams of engineers know the specific design criteria of justice projects and train engineering teams in the project typeAssure quality of design produced by teams through multiple touch pointsManage engineering project execution, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and scope while maintaining client expectationsTrack project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards and preparing regular status reportsFacilitate and document meetings with staff and clients, coordinating project personnel, vendors, and consultantsActively engage in business development initiatives by contributing to RFP responses, participating in client interviews and fostering client relationshipsLead the design on projects of significanceCollaborate early and often with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design processCarry out technical review of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuanceRepresent DLR Group at meetings with owners, clients, and suppliersRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural EngineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)15+ years of experience working as an engineer, including design of building systems related to Justice + Civic sectorA strong understanding of electrical engineering knowledge:Smoke control systems design and coordination with smoke modeling consultantsSpecific knowledge of lighting systems as they relate to justice facilities, especially correctional facilitiesSecurity requirements of justice facilities and how electrical systems tie into security systemsFamiliarity with facility operations and maintenance of building systemsWorking knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplinesStrong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and writtenUnderstanding of business management and customer service principlesKnowledge of local building and energy codesDemonstrated record of consistent quality workAbility to lead others and foster teamworkKnowledge and support of DLR Group's climate action strategy and commitments, including AIA2030, MEP2040 and SE2050Preferred Qualifications:WELL, LEED or relevant accreditation to the regionOur comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
