• Pay Rate: $50.00-$55.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Nights, 18:45-07:15 (4×12 Hours); every other weekend required; 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule

Job Summary

This is a travel nursing contract position on an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) unit providing Couplet Care with a 1:4 patient ratio. The facility delivers approximately 800 births per year. Travelers will float to assist other units (not take assignments). Local candidates are also accepted. The unit utilizes a self-scheduling model with a 32-hour orientation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on an LDRP unit with Couplet Care, maintaining a 1:4 patient ratio
• Assist with sterile speculum exams including assessment of effacement, dilation, station, and presentation
• Utilize External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and both external and internal fetal monitoring
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Provide breastfeeding support and lactation support to patients
• Float to assist other units as needed (not to take assignments)
• Fulfill call requirements: 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Work every other weekend as required

Required Skills

• LDRP experience
• Mother/Baby experience
• Proficiency with External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
• Proficiency with external and internal fetal monitoring
• Ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Breastfeeding support / lactation support
• Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication system
• Travel/contract nursing experience required

Preferred Skills

• EPIC (electronic health records system)

Education Requirements

• BLS certification required
• AWHONN certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (per unit)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift: 18:45-07:15 (4×12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule; $10 on-call rate; call back at 1%
• Float requirement: will float to assist other units (not take assignments)
• Self-scheduling unit
• 32-hour unit orientation required
• Scrubs: Cecil blue hospital-issued scrubs; navy also acceptable
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID-19: not required
