Position Overview

The GOR Group is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to support our client's Integrated Manufacturing operation in Arlington, Texas. This individual will work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Design Engineering teams to manage the transition from design intent to coordinated, manufacturable, and executable modular solutions.

The Integrated Manufacturing environment supports custom modular and prefabricated infrastructure, including e-houses, electrical skids, modular assemblies, hot aisle containment systems, control panels, and other integrated systems serving data centers, industrial facilities, healthcare environments, and technically complex projects.

Unlike a traditional field-focused construction Project Manager, this position will be highly integrated with Design Engineering. The MEP Project Manager will own coordination across engineering, procurement, production, quality, logistics, vendors, customers, and project stakeholders to ensure designs are technically coordinated, constructible, released on schedule, and successfully manufactured.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design Coordination
• Partner closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Design Engineers throughout the design and manufacturing lifecycle.
• Serve as a primary project management interface between Engineering and internal teams including Production, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and Safety.
• Lead project design coordination meetings and maintain accountability for engineering deliverables, decisions, and milestones.
• Review MEP drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, submittals, shop drawings, fabrication documents, and coordinated models.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, structural, and supporting systems within modular assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, clash resolution, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
• Identify design conflicts, missing information, scope gaps, interface risks, and constructability concerns before release for fabrication.
• Facilitate resolution of technical questions among engineering, manufacturing, vendors, customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Manage RFIs, design revisions, submittals, engineering changes, drawing updates, and approval workflows.
• Ensure engineering packages are complete, coordinated, approved, and ready for production.

Modular Manufacturing & Constructability
• Translate project requirements and engineering designs into executable manufacturing plans and project milestones.
• Apply a design-for-manufacturing and assembly mindset when reviewing modular MEP systems.
• Work with Engineering and Production to determine efficient approaches to modularization, fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration.
• Review system layouts for accessibility, serviceability, installation sequencing, lifting, transportation constraints, and field integration.
• Coordinate MEP equipment, piping, ductwork, electrical distribution, controls, supports, penetrations, and connection points within space-constrained modular environments.
• Support standardization of modular products, repeatable assemblies, engineering standards, and design details.
• Identify opportunities to reduce rework, simplify fabrication, improve quality, and shorten production schedules.
• Participate in production planning and manufacturing readiness meetings prior to fabrication release.

Project Management
• Manage multiple modular projects from engineering kickoff through procurement, fabrication, testing, shipment, and final handoff.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, production, quality, testing, and delivery milestones.
• Maintain project documentation, action logs, design trackers, procurement schedules, decision logs, risk registers, and status reporting.
• Lead internal and external project meetings and communicate clear actions, owners, priorities, and due dates.
• Coordinate directly with customers, general contractors, engineers of record, consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, technical requirements, and customer expectations.
• Identify project risks early and develop mitigation, escalation, or recovery plans.
• Support project forecasting, budgeting, change management, cost tracking, and commercial documentation.
• Evaluate changes in customer requirements and communicate impacts to engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
• Ensure projects remain aligned with contracts, purchase orders, specifications, approved designs, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Production & Engineering Integration
• Serve as the day-to-day bridge between the engineering office and the manufacturing floor.
• Coordinate engineering releases and design deliverables with production schedules and material availability.
• Work with Production leadership to resolve drawing questions, fabrication issues, fit-up concerns, material constraints, and design conflicts.
• Ensure production and field feedback is captured and communicated back to Engineering for continuous improvement.
• Participate in root cause analysis when design, fabrication, quality, or schedule issues occur.
• Drive corrective actions and help prevent recurring engineering or production issues.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, modular design practices, work packages, and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain visibility into production progress and escalate issues that could impact customer commitments or project delivery.

Procurement & Equipment Coordination
• Coordinate technical procurement requirements with Engineering, Estimating, and Purchasing.
• Maintain visibility into long-lead equipment, engineered materials, and vendor deliverables.
• Review vendor submittals, equipment data, and technical documentation against project requirements.
• Coordinate equipment selections, dimensions, clearances, connection requirements, service access, and interfaces with modular designs.
• Identify procurement risks that could impact engineering release, fabrication sequencing, or project delivery.
• Support technical communication with equipment manufacturers and suppliers.

Quality, Testing & Project Handoff
• Coordinate with Quality teams to ensure manufactured assemblies meet approved drawings, specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Support factory inspections, quality reviews, testing plans, and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate testing requirements for integrated electrical and mechanical systems.
• Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), customer inspections, and corrective action tracking as required.
• Track punch-list items, nonconformances, deficiencies, and corrective actions through completion.
• Ensure final documentation, redlines, as-built information, equipment data, and turnover packages accurately reflect the manufactured product.
• Coordinate final release, shipment readiness, and handoff to field installation or customer teams.

Qualifications
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in MEP construction, electrical construction, modular manufacturing, engineering coordination, or project management.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and how they interface within complex projects.
• Experience working directly with engineers, designers, BIM/VDC teams, fabrication teams, production teams, or construction professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, shop drawings, equipment schedules, and technical documentation.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design coordination and technical issue resolution.
• Strong understanding of constructability and the relationship between design, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, change management, and project documentation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience
• Experience within modular construction, prefabrication, off-site manufacturing, or integrated manufacturing.
• Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, or other technically complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience with e-houses, electrical skids, modular power systems, mechanical skids, control panels, or similar prefabricated assemblies.
• Understanding of electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, panelboards, UPS systems, generators, and associated infrastructure.
• Understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic systems, pumps, piping, cooling equipment, and controls.
• Experience coordinating electrical and mechanical systems within space-constrained modular environments.
• Familiarity with BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Navisworks workflows. Direct design production experience is beneficial but not required.
• Understanding of MEP coordination and clash detection processes.
• Knowledge of estimating, project costing, and change order development.
• Exposure to Accubid and/or ConEst is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling platforms.
• Experience working directly with manufacturing, fabrication, production, and quality teams.

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of technical, construction, manufacturing, and project management experience will be considered.
