Insurance Agent  

Build a career helping Wisconsin families, farms, and businesses protect what matters most. Rural Mutual Insurance is seeking motivated individuals to build relationships, serve their communities, and grow a successful insurance business. Insurance experience is welcome but not required. Through our financed agent program, we provide salary support, licensing assistance, coaching, and the tools needed to succeed. 

As an Insurance Agent, you'll develop customer relationships, identify insurance needs, recommend solutions, build community partnerships, and grow a book of business throughout Wisconsin. Successful agents come from a variety of backgrounds, including sales, customer service, education, agriculture, banking, healthcare, military service, and business ownership. 

We invest in your success from day one through a base salary, commissions, bonus opportunities, training, and ongoing coaching. Agents meeting performance expectations generally earn between $75,000 and $85,000 in their first year. Compensation:

$48,000 - $85,000 Base Salary PLUS Commissions and Bonuses

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers by understanding their needs and providing trusted guidance. 

• Identify customer risks, coverage needs, and goals, then recommend appropriate insurance solutions to help protect what matters most. 

• Develop and execute a business development plan to generate new opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and grow a successful book of business. 

• Build relationships within the community through networking, local events, and partnerships with individuals, businesses, and organizations. 

• Collaborate with underwriting and other internal teams to help deliver insurance solutions that meet customer needs. 

• Provide responsive, high-quality customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and supporting customers throughout their insurance experience. 

• Continuously develop industry and product knowledge to provide informed recommendations and stay current with changing customer needs and market trends.

Qualifications:

• Experience building and nurturing relationships with clients, partners, and community members.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and relatable manner.

• Strong organizational skills to manage databases and records efficiently.

• Ability to stay informed about industry trends and policy changes to provide up-to-date advice.

• Comfortable networking with local businesses and homeowners to expand client base and influence community presence.

• Sales experience and a history of achieving performance goals are valued; however, we also welcome motivated individuals who are eager to build a successful career in insurance sales.

• Experience working with clients and business partners to facilitate applications, policy servicing, underwriting requirements, or other customer-focused processes is a plus.

• Licensed in property, casualty, and life insurance—or committed to obtaining licenses within 60 days of being hired.
