HR Benefits Coordinator

HR & Benefits Coordinator (Contract) Location: Portland Metro Area Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Full-Time Position Type: Contract About the Opportunity LHH Recruitment Solutions is proactively seeking HR & Benefits Coordinators for upcoming contract opportunities with organizations across the Portland and Vancouver metro area. These roles support day-to-day human resources operations, employee benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, and employee support functions. Successful candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing confidential information while providing excellent service to employees and business partners. Key Responsibilities Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations Respond to employee questions regarding medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefit programs Support new hire onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data Process personnel changes, including promotions, transfers, pay adjustments, and status updates Assist with leave administration, accommodations, and workers' compensation tracking Coordinate open enrollment activities and employee communications Partner with benefit carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators Prepare reports, audits, and compliance-related documentation Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, and other administrative HR functions as needed Qualifications 2+ years of HR, Benefits Administration, HR Coordinator, or related experience Experience supporting employee benefits programs and HR operations Knowledge of onboarding, employee record management, and HR best practices Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word Preferred Qualifications Experience with HRIS systems such as ADP, Paylocity, UKG, Workday, Dayforce, BambooHR, or Paycom Experience supporting multi-state employees Understanding of leave administration and employment law compliance HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) preferred but not required What You'll Bring Strong follow-through and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment A proactive and employee-focused approach Adaptability and willingness to jump in where support is needed Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
