Overview ShiftsAvailable: Variable Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN) Hours: Variable (Evenings/Weekends) Location: St. Joseph Medical Center - Kansas City, MO We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar, sometimes referred to as aHospital Admission Representative. The Patient Account Registrarcollects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information while ensuring eligibility, benefits, and authorizations are accurately obtained.The Patient Account Registrarcollaborates closely with the Admitting team and communicates effectively with patients across all age groups.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed. Responsibilities Coordinate with nursing staff, case managers, and physicians to assign beds for incoming patients based on medical needs, availability, and urgency Monitor bed occupancy and status in real-time using hospital information systems act as a liaison between various hospital departments tofacilitatesmooth patient transfers andoptimizebed usage Update patient data in the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) system to reflect admissions, discharges, and transfers accurately Run reports and analyze bedutilizationtrends to support hospital operations Qualifications Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
