Staff RF Engineer Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™ and other breakthrough supermaterials, enabling next‑generation products across energy, mobility, construction, and defense. Lyten seeks an experienced and motivated Staff RF Engineer to leverage physics and engineering knowledge to innovate solutions to national‑level challenges. The candidate will drive these solutions from concept to final product using novel meta‑surfaces and meta‑material structures, invent new concepts, create theoretical models, perform cutting‑edge research to fabricate and characterize materials needed to shape coating technologies, develop prototypes, and collect and present data to support proofs of concept. This Staff RF Engineer will join a team of experimental staff members who are passionate about developing innovative solutions that can impact the future development and application of electromagnetic devices involving novel meta‑surface designs. The role involves leveraging commercial computational tools to build simulations and develop numerical solutions for problems pertaining to the interaction of electromagnetic fields with novel meta‑surfaces and meta‑material structures, extending design principles into application domains with poorly defined behaviors or extreme parameters, leading research efforts, presenting results, mentoring early‑career staff, and engaging potential sponsors for new programs. Qualifications Doctorate or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3–7+ years of experience leading or contributing substantially to multidisciplinary projects where technical collaboration is required. 1+ years of experience building numerical models for solving electromagnetic problems using commercial tools such as COMSOL or HFSS. Record of creative application of electromagnetics or physics knowledge and numerical methods to solve complex problems in electromagnetic field applications. Programming experience in at least one high‑level language (C, C++, Java) and MATLAB and/or Python. Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to internal and external customers. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Professional experience in RCS, LO technology, RF, Computational Electromagnetics (CEM) simulations, or electromagnetic research. Experience modeling multi‑physics problems using HFSS, MATLAB, VBROP, Xpatch, etc. Research, design, computational electromagnetic modeling, fabrication, and testing of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials. Familiarity with tailoring EM fields to control reflection, transmission, and absorption by patterning surfaces and designing effective material properties. Experience in low‑observable RF and IR coatings material & processes procedures and requirements. Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Applicants must either have a current SECRET security clearance or be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance by the start of work and be qualified to obtain a full clearance upon formal investigation. Physical Work Requirements Able to lift 25 lbs. and stand for many hours per day. Compensation Range The expected base salary range for this position is $155,200.00 – $232,800.00. Pay will be based on location, experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for tier‑based bonuses, equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO, sick time, 401(k), and an employee relocation plan if applicable.
