Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Web Application Developer for a contract opportunity with our client in Indianapolis, Indiana .


Overview


A highly experienced senior web application developer responsible for leading architecture, design, and development of modern, scalable web applications with a focus on integrating AI/ML capabilities. The role involves client engagement, technical leadership, and establishing best practices across web and cloud technologies.


Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of web applications using technologies such as .NET/C#, Node.js, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions using microservices and serverless architectures
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns
• Design and integrate AI-enabled features like LLMs, AI APIs, intelligent search, summarization, and automation workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI opportunities, ensuring responsible and secure use of AI technologies
• Serve as the primary technical interface to clients, translating business needs into scalable solutions
• Oversee development of secure, high-performance web applications and RESTful APIs
• Architect and deploy applications in AWS and Azure, leading CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
• Mentor developers, lead code and architecture reviews, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning
• Ensure applications meet security standards, including secure API design and cloud security practices
• Collaborate with UI/UX teams to deliver accessible and user-centric applications
• Stay current with emerging web and AI technologies, introducing new tools and frameworks to improve delivery and innovation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in full-stack web application development, including .NET/C# and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Hands-on experience with T-SQL, SQL query optimization, stored procedures, and database objects
• Experience integrating or developing AI/ML capabilities using AI APIs such as Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock
• Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms, including serverless architectures
• Proficiency in web architecture, microservices, RESTful API design, and database management
• Excellent team leadership and client engagement skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge business needs and technical solutions
• Understanding of secure application development and cloud security

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in AWS, Azure, or AI/ML technologies
• Experience building or integrating generative AI solutions in production
• Familiarity with Python for AI/ML workflows
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
• Previous client-facing technical leadership roles within complex or mission-driven environments

The work schedule is standard hours with no expected overtime; this assignment does not support telework.
