Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active Ohio RRT license.

Details

• Works in adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Administers a range of respiratory medications and uses various aerosol delivery and nebulizer systems
• Performs airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care/management
• Interprets arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts required
• May require floating between campuses

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required
• CRT also acceptable but not in combination with RRT
• Current BLS certification required
• Active Ohio state license required at time of submission (pending not accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• High school diploma or official transcripts required during compliance process
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (Charge RN acceptable for second reference); coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this facility
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing their contract
• Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to a fingerprinting location; those at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
