Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient rehab setting requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation setting at a Level 2 trauma facility
• Unit includes PT, OT, and Speech therapy disciplines
• Patient loads vary by area: up to 9 per day outpatient, up to 13 per day inpatient, varies in rehab
• Patient population includes ortho, post-surgical, neuro, trauma, cardiac, and medsurg conditions, excluding NICU, pediatrics, PICU, ER, and ICU
• May be assigned to inpatient, outpatient, or rehab areas as specified by the facility
• Potential to float to other assigned areas as needed
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
• Support from 2 rehab aides/OTAs/PTALs who assist with rehab
• Schedule is 8-hour shifts, Tuesday-Saturday, 8:30a-5p, though shifts may vary (e.g., Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon) depending on facility needs
• Weekend requirements vary and will be specified per assignment
• Holiday coverage is not required

Requirements

• Active PT state license required for consideration, if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; travel and trauma experience preferred
• Inpatient clinical experience may be considered in lieu of full 1 year of experience
• Experience with bedside swallow studies preferred for Speech candidates; video swallowing study experience a plus

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of patients within assigned inpatient, outpatient, or rehab areas
• Department-specific orientation lasts approximately 1.5 days, including Cerner training if needed
• Dress code requires a maroon polo shirt, dark colored pants, and closed-toed shoes; lab coat optional
• Pharmacy services available 24/7 on site
• First-time travelers may be considered based on clinical experience
