Assistant District Attorney
The Berkshire District Attorney's Office seeks to hire a full-time attorney who will join the Superior Court Prosecution team. The Berkshire District Attorney's Office serves all 32 cities and towns in Berkshire County and is responsible for all criminal prosecutions in Berkshire County. This position is for a trial attorney with an emphasis on trying Sexual Assault, Firearm, Violent Crime and Narcotics cases in the Superior Court. Responsibilities include reviewing case files, preparing and presenting cases to the Grand Jury, handling pre-trial motions, interviewing witnesses, and disposing of cases by plea, bench, or jury trial.
Required Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree from accredited law school. Membership in Massachusetts Bar. 3-5 years criminal litigation experience. The Superior Court ADA will report to the First Assistant District Attorney. Salary: $100,000-$110,000 commensurate with experience. Full-time positions offer a state benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, and paid vacation, personal and sick leave and paid parental leave. All ADA positions qualify for public service loan forgiveness. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of background check.
