Hospitality Forward House Manager

Malibu-Based principal seeks a hospitality-forward House Manager to run a multi-structure residence. This role wants the rare candidate who pairs the polish of an interiors-focused house manager with real command of household systems and facilities. You will work in lock step with a small, close-knit team to keep the operation running without friction. You lead with refined systems and processes, bring a genuine hospitality instinct, treat no task as beneath you, and keep the property guest-ready at all times. Key Responsibilities Household Operations Deliver the north star: a 6-star sanctuary for the principal and his guests. Walk the property daily. Build and maintain property manuals, maintenance schedules, and seasonal and emergency readiness plans. Write/refine SOPs for recurring tasks, from pool opening to guest suite turnover to define standards. Build a preventative maintenance calendar and track completion. Run pre-arrival checks on safety, staging, cleanliness, and system function so the property stays guest-ready around the clock. Run and troubleshoot smart home systems (Crestron, Lutron, Savant, or equivalent). Manage, train, and schedule household staff and contract workers, including houseman and housekeepers. Set the service standard and hold the team to consistent SOPs. Direct housekeeping, hospitality, security, and facilities so everyone operates as one tight unit. Source, vet, and manage vendors. Liaise directly with architects, contractors, and designers. Track project progress, budgets, documentation, and invoices from kickoff to close. Oversee dinner parties and events to ensure a memorable experience. Build guest experience protocols that reflect 6 star experience. Advance and travel to other properties as needed to support the principal. Qualifications 8+ years in luxury residential or estate operations. Systems-minded, with a strong hospitality gene. Proactive, professional, self-directed. High EQ and relationship skills, from the principal to the plumber. Experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams across housekeeping, hospitality, and facilities. A service mindset where no task is too big or too small, balanced with the judgment to oversee rather than do everything personally. Highly organized and detail-focused, with strong tech skills and clear reporting habits. Willingness to troubleshoot first and call in backup second. Smart home literacy (Crestron, Lutron, Savant, or equivalent) and a baseline understanding of facilities to direct houseman and vendors. Discreet and trustworthy, with real experience handling confidential matters. Calm under pressure. A resourceful problem solver who handles emergencies without losing composure. Must love dogs.
