Learning and Development Manager

Our promise is to provide outstanding service as it remains to be our first and foremost mission.Position Summary: This well-organized, insightful, and forward-thinking, training-focused individual is responsible for ensuring A. Duie Pyle maintains accurate, effective training and development programs across the Fleet Maintenance Department. This role oversees the development of training curriculum, ensures compliance with established programs, tracks training completion, delivers training when appropriate, and continuously enhances training materials through the use of modern learning tools and software programs. The position works closely with department leaders to ensure training is completed in a timely manner and aligned with operational needs. This role serves as the direct supervisor of training personnel within the Fleet Maintenance Department and plays a key role in shaping and expanding the apprenticeship programs. While supervisory responsibilities are primary, hands-on involvement is also expected to support the growth of existing training programs and the development of new initiatives that improve departmental proficiency and overall employee productivity.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Leads the development, coordination, delivery, recordkeeping, and administrative oversight of training programs across the departmentIdentify training needs, develop curriculum, and deliver training through in-person, recorded, and virtual learning environmentsSupervise, coach and develop a team of training department members, supporting both current needs and future expansionWork cross-functionally with Regional managers, Shop supervisors, and subject matter experts to design and deliver technical training programsUtilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to record, monitor, and drive new training initiativesCoordinate with external training providers to supplement internal training and support areas of growthCreate and monitor measurable outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and demonstrate employee skill progressionContinually evaluate procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as neededFoster positive interactions with coworkers and promotes the culture and company standards within the departmentTo be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:Strong knowledge of class 8 tractor and trailer maintenance and DOT/OSHA guidelinesFamiliar with all systems relative to today’s heavy-duty equipmentMust have 5 plus years of maintenance experience in a fleet maintenance environmentStrong computer skills and proficient in: Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookMust be able to multi-taskGood written and strong oral communication skillsEmployee development skillsFor a full job description associated with this posting, please contact A.
