Job Title: Medical Assistant (Maternity Coverage)
Location: Visalia, CA

Job Summary:

Medical Assistant supports the daily operations of a medical office by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and maintaining patient records. This role helps ensure patients have a positive experience and that the office runs efficiently. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work is a must. Punctuality is key.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday
• 7:30 or 8am - 5pm

Pay:

• $19.00 - $22 DOE

Essential Job Functions:

• Welcomes patients, visitors, physicians and staff in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
• Rooms patients upon arrival, documenting patient's vital signs and chief complaint in the patient's chart/ EMR system
• Confirming current medication list and any additional information as instructed by the physician.
• Calls or faxes in any orders approved by physician.
• Checks voice mail messages regularly throughout the day and addresses/respond to all inquiries by the end of each day.
• Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
• Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
• Maintains OSHA logs and keeps up to date for compliance.
• Restocking of patient rooms with supplies on a daily basis.
• Inventories and reports medical supplies that need to be ordered to the appropriate lead.
• Checks assigned physicians mail on a daily basis and notify physicians of patients' lab and test results; meeting times; etc.
• Reschedules appointments as needed if there is a change in MD's schedule.
• Provides back-up for other providers, if needed and as instructed by their lead.

Requirements:

• 2-3 Years of Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Insurance experience
