Role Description The Activity Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Vista, CA, responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing a diverse calendar of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Respite programs. Day-to-day tasks include assessing resident interests and abilities, planning and facilitating group and individual activities, and ensuring programs support physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. The Activity Director manages event logistics, oversees activity budgets and supplies, and collaborates with care teams and families to encourage participation and engagement. This role also involves maintaining documentation of resident attendance and outcomes, ensuring activities align with regulatory standards and community policies, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members. Candidates should possess skills in Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation to design and lead engaging, person-centered activity programs. Candidates should possess Budgeting skills to manage activity-related expenses and resources responsibly. Candidates should possess Event Planning skills to organize, schedule, and coordinate community events and special programs. Prior experience in senior living, long-term care, or a related healthcare or social services setting is highly beneficial. Knowledge of dementia-friendly and memory care programming is an advantage. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt activities to varying resident needs and abilities. High school diploma required; relevant certifications (e.g., Activity Director, Recreational Therapy) or coursework in recreation, social work, or gerontology are preferred.
