Manager - Plant Operations

Manager - Plant Operations Location: Cincinnati, OH – Dayton Rd – Filling industrial Overview The Plant Operations Manager supports and coordinates with the team contributing to the production and repackaging of compressed and liquid gases cylinders, addressing unsafe acts or conditions promptly and thoughtfully, and collaborating on task distribution according to customer needs, current stock levels, and the unique strengths of our team. Responsibilities Operate and safely maintain the plant for pumping or repackaging of gases into cylinders while supporting the achievement of compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations and laws. Maintain a neat, clean and orderly plant appearance. Study production schedules and plan team capacity for completion of job assignments. Collaborate on and/or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Introduce and champion measures to advance production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Refine working conditions and use of equipment to support the efficiency of the team. Support the achievement of safety rules, consistently prioritizing safety training and ensuring it is regularly scheduled, conducted and documented. Share company policies with the team and promote safety regulations to protect our people. Support the achievement of proper investigation and reporting for all injuries and accidents within 24 hours. Nurture alignment and collaborate with team members in solving work‑related problems. Recommend and/or initiate career journey adjustments, such as promotions, transfers, and performance harmony measures. Support the achievement of effective handling for associate issues, grievances, etc. Support and partner with supervisors to provide guidance and leadership. Initiate and/or suggest plans to inspire the team to contribute to our shared journey. Provide coaching and supportive feedback promptly to ensure that individuals needing additional support are identified, documented, and empowered to reach acceptable performance, or guided toward new opportunities. Support new team members and cross‑train associates to continue production during personnel shortages. Maintain time and production records and approve overtime when essential, while keeping overtime at sustainable levels. Additional duties and projects as may be assigned. Frequently be required to move through manufacturing and/or office locations. Frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information. Require observing and assessing information received via computer. Use computer, telephone and operate a fork‑lift. Occasionally be required to move up to 60 pounds or more with the aid of material handling equipment. Occasionally exposed to moving office/production machine parts. Minimal travel required. Workspace contains moving mechanical parts and risk of electric shock. Require both indoor & outdoor environments in various seasonal weather conditions. Work environment may contain loud noises and odors that may last for long periods of time or on a continual basis. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. At least two (2) years of demonstrated experience working in a supervisory/leadership role. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with compressed/packaged gases. At least five (5) years of industry experience. Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communication skills that ensure a smooth flow of information between self and others through clear speaking and writing, encouragement of open expression of ideas, and effective listening. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with others in both favorable and unfavorable situations regardless of status of position. Accepts cultural diversity and establishes effective working relationships. Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self‑starter; self‑motivated; well organized; ability to work independently. Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately. Demonstrated dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction. Able to operate a fork‑lift. Employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
