Event Manager

The Event Manager provides professional client services support in the planning, organization, and management of assigned events of all sizes within the facility and on facility property. This role will monitor the logistics of these events, and all event coordination tasks after events are booked through the conclusion, by performing the duties below.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Meeting with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events
• Guiding clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies and procedures
• Coordinating activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events
• Keeping clients informed as to status of deadline schedules
• Preparing cost estimates and final billing
• Serving as primary liaison between clients and facility departments
• Supervising event day staff and overseeing all aspects of facility operations related to assigned meetings and/or events
• Monitoring and supervising facility set-up and strike when necessary
• Assisting in training event services staff
• Monitoring events, maintaining close contact with clients and facility staff to ensure successful events
• Following-up on all client requests, concerns, and problems
• Providing recommendations for process improvements within facility offerings
• Attending appropriate planning, organization and other event and facility meetings in support of facility operations
• Researching, reviewing, and recommending equipment, materials and supplies required in providing event services and planning
• Serving as manager on duty as required
• Assuming supervisory duties when Director of Events is unavailable

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• At least 4 years related experience and/or training
• Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for a similar facility
• Venue management (arena or stadium) experience preferred
• Complex and large scale event management experience preferred
• Concert and live production event management experience preferred

• Ability to handle and resolve conflict, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations
• Knowledge using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Physical demands include:

• Regularly required to move around the facility
• To stand for long hours during events
• This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events
