Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36-hour orientation period; weekend coverage required; may float to units of similar acuity as needed

Highlights:

• 40-bed inpatient postpartum unit providing Family-Centered care to mothers and newborns
• Diverse patient population including vaginal and cesarean deliveries, healthy newborns, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) infants
• Daily census of approximately 60 patients with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• EPIC electronic medical record system; telemetry interpretation required (EKG exam completion required prior to start)
• 13-week travel nursing assignment with two pre-approved time-off periods
• Local candidates accepted; former employees eligible after 6-month separation period

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• IV start skills and IV certification required
• Labor and delivery (L&D) experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) in hand at time of submission
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Telemetry interpretation skills required; must pass EKG exam prior to start date
• Proficiency in administration of blood products, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, heparin, and pitocin
• Experience with newborn assessment, couplet care, breastfeeding instruction, and discharge teaching
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently upon receipt
• Unresponsive or uncooperative candidates during credentialing are at risk of assignment push or cancellation
• Plan vacation time carefully as immediate post-booking travel may cause delays due to fingerprinting requirements
