Senior Tax Accountant

Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing public accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing strategic tax planning services, and supporting a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive public accounting experience, strong technical tax knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and other business entities. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to help clients optimize their tax positions. Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local tax regulations. Maintain accurate tax documentation and accounting records. Perform bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and financial account reviews. Prepare and file payroll tax returns and ensure timely payroll tax deposits. Utilize accounting and tax software, including QuickBooks and tax preparation software, to manage client engagements efficiently. Research tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients. Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality accounting and tax services. Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of public accounting experience focused on tax. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, compliance, and IRS regulations. Experience preparing individual and business tax returns. Proficiency with QuickBooks. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification preferred but not required. Experience with Drake Tax Software is a plus. Experience providing tax planning and advisory services to individuals and businesses. High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, client-focused results.
