This facility provides comprehensive inpatient cardiothoracic surgical services with established protocols to support quality patient care delivery. The medical center maintains modern surgical infrastructure and operating room capabilities to ensure optimal outcomes for cardiothoracic surgery patients. All rounding responsibilities are conducted collaboratively with advanced practice clinicians on staff.

The area surrounding this Florida assignment offers a range of outdoor and water-based activities, including boating, snorkeling, beachcombing, dolphin-watching tours, and fishing along both the Atlantic coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Notable experiences include the Ten Thousand Islands Cruise for scenic views and wildlife spotting, shelling and sightseeing boat tours, and Gulf of Mexico sunset cruises. Parks and nature destinations provide additional options for outdoor enthusiasts seeking land-based recreation.

The cardiothoracic surgeon will provide inpatient surgical coverage Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 5:00 PM throughout July and on an ongoing basis, with both weekday and weekend shifts included. Night call begins at 4:30 PM and runs until 7:00 AM the following day; weekend call is managed by a dedicated weekend coverage surgeon covering Friday 4:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM. Responsibilities include performing inpatient surgical cases and conducting pre- and postoperative rounding. All rounding is performed in collaboration with an APP; no clinic duties or inpatient consults are required for this assignment.
