Get to Know This Role The Assistant Brewer position is a critical contributor to the production processes throughout the brewing department. This role is responsible for a wide variety of duties in support of the Brewing Department’s production needs, including raw materials receiving, staging and handling, cellar work, use of automation and database systems for process and inventory control, and adjustments using the WMS scanner. Responsibilities also include process component cleaning, area housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned. All duties must be performed safely and with high‑level attention to detail in accordance with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices. We are currently accepting applications for 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) Tuesday‐Saturday or Sunday‑Thursday with a 7% shift differential. What You Will Do Perform routine work for the brewhouse and cellar, including material receiving, inventory control, brewhouse and cellar hop preparation, basic equipment maintenance and cleaning, and material staging for brewing, cellar and filtration areas. Be certified and proficient in utilizing inventory control software (Phoenix WMS and Switchboard) for material receiving, data entry and lot tracking for FIFO and traceability programs. Be certified and proficient in operation of department counterbalance forklifts, narrow isle lift, squeeze clamp tool, torpedo clamp tool, cart caddy, drum lift, scissor or boom lift and forklift battery exchange. Adjust material and raw‑materials inventory, manage FIFO best practices and conduct cycle counts using Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve inventory accuracy KPIs. Use Brewmaxx (process automation system) for cellar process control. Perform CIP/COP of tanks, lines, and hardware using automated and manual systems. Demonstrate safe work practices and contribute to the mobile equipment safety program. Conduct thorough forklift inspections, elevate safety concerns, interact with the Mobile Equipment Specialist or Truck Shop to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, report property damage, and demonstrate ownership until resolution. Work cross‑functionally across departments as needed, including Packaging, Quality, Brewery Support, Warehouse and Supply Chain. Maintain and rebuild hardware and write work orders to address equipment and facilities issues; check out parts from the storeroom as needed. Be trained in and participate in the company LOTOTO, Confined Space Entry and Confined Space Rescue programs. Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles and GMP; perform routine 5S audits and maintain ownership of at least one 5S area. Perform additional duties as assigned. Benefits We offer $15.50 to $23.95 hourly compensation, based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Qualifications 1 year of experience in a production, industrial, or mechanical setting preferred. 1 year of powered industrial truck experience within a production, warehouse, or shipping operation preferred. Experience with a digital Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred. Ability to learn and master the WMS used for inventory control.
