Staff Accountant

Qualifications Must have at least two years of professional full range accounting experience preferably in a fast paced, non-profit environment. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred, but not required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word and have prior experience with automated accounting systems. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting are required. Must be detail oriented, self-directed and capable of working independently and efficiently. The position may be required to work extra hours from time to time to meet financial statement and audit deadlines. Hours and Location Full-time, Grand Way Commons in South Burlington. Hybrid work schedule-3 days in the office in 2 days at home (after training is complete) Founded in Burlington in 1977, Cathedral Square is a national leader in the creation of high-quality, affordable, service-enriched housing communities for older adults and people with special needs. We operate 26 independent-living communities and two assisted-living residences (one devoted to memory care). The Staff Accountant is responsible for budget preparation, full cycle accounting and financial reporting for specific Cathedral Square properties. Other responsibilities include fulfilling property compliance requirements, generation of data metrics, coordination of the annual audit, and other project-based assignments.
