Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement (full time only) 401(k) savings plan (Once eligibility requirements are met) SUMMARY: Assists Provider part -time with daily clinic and administrative tasks related to patient, lab, insurance and pharmacy communications. Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance. Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical histories, and confirming purpose of visits. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Saves provider time by helping with office procedures Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential Counsels patients by transmitting physician’s orders and answering questions about treatments, surgeries, etc. Schedules surgeries by making any necessary arrangements with our authorization coordinator, completing preoperative questionnaire, etc. Timely responses to communications from patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, etc. Daily patient tasks Daily pharmacy tasks Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations Keeps supplies ready by monitoring stock and notifying appropriate personnel immediately when it is noticed supplies are low Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and reporting equipment problems to the Operations Manager Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Performs other related duties as assigned by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS: At least one (1) year of medical assistant experience preferred Verbal communication Infection control Creating a safe, effective environment Organization Scheduling Professionalism Confidentiality Bedside manner Medical teamwork COMPETENCIES: Diversity - Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; Promotes a harassment-free environment Ethics - Treats people with respect; Works with integrity and ethically Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.
