Sr. Environmental Scientist

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Environmental Scientist to work in diverse team environments across Lisle, IL, Dallas, TX, and Charlotte, NC. The role involves project management, employee development, client engagement, and occasional travel. Posting Location(s) Lisle, IL; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC What You'll Do: Providing leadership to support environmental compliance services on various energy and utilities projects, including telecom, renewable, and oil & gas projects. Managing projects, tasks, and staff to support environmental compliance needs of clients and engineering project managers. Supervising, training, and mentoring less experienced team members. Prioritizing and delegating project responsibilities while fostering the development of junior staff. Completing proposals and estimating project budgets. Supporting field investigations to delineate and map wetlands, perform environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers. Researching and completing environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local levels. Composing, reviewing, and submitting a variety of regulatory documents including SPCC Plans, SWPPP, and BMP Plans. Cultivating strong client relationships. Working with project teams, technical staff, and subcontractors. What You'll Need: BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or a related discipline. 10+ years of related environmental project management experience. Experience collecting GPS data and creating maps in ArcGIS Pro. Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, etc.). Strong team‑player skills in a multi‑disciplinary environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation capabilities. Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel on short notice. Valid driver’s license.
