Maintenance Tech - 1st shift

Job Description

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm

Pay: $25/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial machine repair, basic electrical troubleshooting, and PLC programming, along with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills. Experience in plastics manufacturing is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery
• Conduct preventive maintenance on production lines and building systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues
• Assist with basic PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Follow all plant safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Use power tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to supervisors and team members
• Support overall plant operations by responding to equipment downtime and maintenance needs

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and controls
• Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics preferred
• General understanding of plant maintenance procedures and industrial safety standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous plastics manufacturing experience is a plus

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of industrial machine repair experience (required)
• Minimum 1 year of electrical troubleshooting experience (required)
• Minimum 1 year of PLC programming experience (preferred)
• Basic working knowledge of power tools, including drills, saws, cutting tools, vacuum systems, and related equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per shift
• Ability to climb stairs and perform physically demanding activities in a manufacturing environment

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing facility environment and may require exposure to noise, heat, moving mechanical parts, and other industrial conditions. Proper PPE and adherence to safety procedures are required at all times.
