Controller

Century Group is partnering with a client in commercial real estate investment firm focused on the value-add acquisition of office, retail, and multi-family properties throughout the Western United States who is seeking an exceptional Controller to join our team in the Los Angeles office. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $120,000 to $160,000 per year.

Job responsibilities :

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Qualifications:

• Business degree in accounting, finance or related field required
• 10 years of accounting experience required
• 5+ years of broad-based accounting for real estate experience
• 2-5+ years active supervisory experience required

Experience :

• MRI experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
