Accounting Analyst

Accountant II Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00) Location: Sacramento, CA 95833 Schedule: Hybrid | Day Shift | 36 month contract | Onsite as needed, transitioning to 2 days/week onsite in July Facility will provide equipment Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience accepted 2+ years of recent accounting experience Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting/auditing principles Experience preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities Ability to analyze financial statements, variances, and accounting transactions Experience using computerized accounting or financial systems Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage confidential financial information and meet strict deadlines Must be located in the Sacramento area and able to work onsite as needed Preferred Requirements: Prior medical group or healthcare accounting experience Experience supporting physician compensation activities Experience supporting audits and responding to auditor inquiries Familiarity with financial reporting and cost allocation processes Experience preparing government or regulatory financial filings Ability to support budgeting and operational finance activities Experience working in a fast-paced, changing business environment Summary / Duties: The Accountant II supports medical groups aligned with Client by performing moderately complex accounting functions and maintaining financial accuracy across hospital and medical foundation entities. Responsibilities include general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, financial reporting, variance analysis, month‑end and year‑end close support, and audit preparation. This role also assists with physician compensation‑related activities and supports operational finance functions including chargebacks, cost allocations, and budget support. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and department leaders to resolve accounting issues, ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and improve accounting workflows and processes.
