Santa Monica is the nerve center of our company, where the best ideas combine with unrivaled rigor to create the biggest and best entertainment experiences in the world.As a Revenue Recognition & Reporting, Sr. Accountant you will play a critical role in the Activision Blizzard controllership as well as the worldwide Finance Team. Overall, the responsibility of this role is to (1) Support execution of the accounting process for our revenue accounting system (2) support revenue recognition execution for partnership transactions not processed by our revenue system (3) partner with technical accounting, as well as business and finance teams to stay up to date on new developments within the business that can impact our revenue system set ups and process, and (4) ensure that we have aligned with all accounting requirements under US GAAP and global accounting policies as it relates to areas of responsibility.You will work closely to partner with the business units across the company to ensure a deep understanding of our business activities associated with games in development, and address accounting and finance-related issues. You will have interaction and insights into Business Unit finance teams.Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:Support the full accounting close process for the revenue accounting system, including preparation and maintenance of system configurations, performing related reconciliations, and ensuring all activities meet SOX compliance requirementsWork closely with finance teams to stay informed of current business performance and new developments in the business to ensure proper accounting system set upsPartner with key stakeholders and business unit teams to execute revenue recognition for new partnership transactions and other non-routine revenue entries (e.g. agreement review, revenue accounting workbook preparation, journal entry preparation)Partner with Corporate FP&A team to prepare supporting schedules to support revenue forecastsSupport internal and external audit process and requests as needed for areas of responsibilitySupport with testing revenue system upgrades and enhancementsMinimum Requirements:B.A./B.S. in Accounting5+ years of professional accounting, with experience in revenue recognitionPrevious working experience managing system data flows and processing of high volume of transaction dataStrong Microsoft Excel SkillsStrong knowledge of revenue recognition under US GAAPExperience in managing and analyzing large data setsCPA preferred but not requiredKnowledge & Skills:Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to analyze financial results and relationships between accounts and dataAble to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasksGreat teammate with experience collaborating with multiple stakeholdersStrong communicationKey Attributes:Ability to work within tight deadlinesSelf-motivated and eager to learnAbility to problem solve and collaborateExtra Points:Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite or similar ERPExperience with reporting tools such as Looker, OBIEE Answers and HyperionExperience with Zuora Revenue Recognition softwareExperience with revenue recognition in the gaming industryActivision Blizzard, Inc., is one of the world's largest and most successful interactive entertainment companies and is at the intersection of media, technology and entertainment. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location.
