Administrative Officer I

Agency Adult Correction Division – COO – OPS – Institutions Operations Overview Position Title: Administrative Officer I (NS) Position Number: 60072419 | Grade: NC11 Responsibilities Administer and manage the complete business and human resource management functions at Sanford Correctional Center. Manage and supervise budgets, accounting, human resources, canteen, clothes‑house, mailroom, and trust fund. Assign and monitor the work efforts of subordinate staff. Plan and monitor budgets, approve expenditures, purchase supplies and equipment, inventories, establish and monitor temporary employees and personal service contracts, conduct fiscal audit functions, and oversee canteen, mailroom, and warehouse/clothes operations. Oversee human resource operations including hiring, benefits, time‑keeping, FIORI, and staff disciplinary actions. Enforce all state administrative policies and procedures for correctional facility operations and ensure compliance with the Department of Adult Correction and applicable state regulations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and at least one year of experience in HR, budgeting, research, or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Documented knowledge of business administration principles and practices as they apply to government programs. Documented knowledge of personnel management practices and accounting practices and procedures. Documented knowledge of state rules and regulations pertaining to fiscal and human resource management. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $45,431.00 – $79,504.00 (Grade NC11).
