Chief Financial OfficerThe Chief Financial Officer provides strategic financial leadership and oversees the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, revenue cycle management, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and financial systems.The CFO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with executive leadership and governing bodies to develop financial strategies that support organizational goals, operational performance, and long-term growth.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive leadership for budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle management.Develop and oversee annual budgets and long-term financial plans.Lead 3–5 year financial planning, scenario planning, and capital allocation.Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to executive leadership.Develop financial analytics and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.Evaluate financial implications of strategic initiatives, service expansions, and operational changes.Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.Lead financial risk management, audits, compliance monitoring, and regulatory reporting.Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, healthcare, and regulatory requirements.Oversee financial information systems and ensure accurate, timely, and secure reporting.Protect financial and organizational data through appropriate controls and safeguards.Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.Foster collaboration between finance, clinical, and operational departments.Build relationships with community organizations, healthcare partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.Support funding, grant, and program development initiatives.Participate in executive leadership meetings and organizational strategic planning.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and professional standards.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in Finance and/or Accounting.10+ years of progressive healthcare financial leadership experience.5+ years of senior leadership experience.Proven experience with strategic planning, long-range forecasting, and capital allocation.Experience with finance/accounting software and Electronic Health Records (EHRs).Preferred QualificationsMBA preferred.Experience with federally funded healthcare programs.Experience with Tribal healthcare systems.FQHC experience.Grant funding experience.Experience working with Native American/Alaskan Native communities.CPA, CHFP, or CMA certification preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExpert knowledge of GAAP.Strong financial analysis and strategic planning skills.Strong negotiation and contract/vendor management skills.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Ability to communicate complex financial information to leadership, staff, and governing bodies.Knowledge of federal funding requirements and government reporting.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a leadership environment.EEO Statement - Tribal Health is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
